Lions Kitchen: A Teaching Kitchen

Our Teaching Kitchen is complete, and we are excited to begin this next chapter of serving our community!

More than just a commercial kitchen, this space is an investment in the health, confidence, and independence of our guests. Equipped with modern commercial-grade appliances and equipment, the kitchen allows us to expand our mission beyond providing food by teaching the skills needed to prepare healthy, affordable meals at home.

Through our Teaching Kitchen, we will offer:

· Hands-on cooking and food preparation classes

· Nutrition and healthy eating education

· Safe food handling and kitchen safety instruction

· Meal planning and budgeting workshops

· Food preservation and reducing food waste

· Cooking demonstrations featuring ingredients commonly available through our pantry

The success of our Teaching Kitchen would not have been possible without the extraordinary generosity of our supporters.

Thanks to a generous grant from Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), along with the dedicated support of the Belgium Lions Club and the Port Washington Lions Club, every commercial appliance in our Teaching Kitchen has been fully funded and is ready to serve our community.

Their investment is much more than stainless steel and equipment—it is an investment in healthier families, stronger communities, and brighter futures. Because of their generosity, our guests will have the opportunity to learn valuable cooking skills, practice safe food handling, discover nutritious meal preparation, and gain the confidence to make healthy, affordable meals at home.
